The diet with the beautiful name "6 petals" is a fast weight method developed by the Swiss nutritionist Anna Johansson and is on the list of officially recognized associations of European nutritionists. Let's figure out what a "6 petal diet" is, is it really that effective and what can be done to lose those extra pounds?
Losing weight in six days: the supplement six
The popular Six Petal Diet was developed by Anna Johansson, a Swedish nutritionist. It is created on the basis of the principles of separate nutrition and consists of six single-diet, it is every day on the menu to contain only one type of food. The diet is designed in such a way that so-called protein days alternate between carbohydrate days, which according to the nutritionist help to get rid of unnecessary pounds as soon as possible. The main condition is that with this method of losing weight it is not possible to change the menu for each day, as well as the order of one-diet.
Why 6 petal diets? Everything is very simple: before you start observing it, the author proposes to draw 6 petals, mark each stage of the diet and make flowers out of them and then tear them off every day as we move towards the expected goal. According to the author, this will help to motivate a person to lose weight: get rid of the next petal every day, he clearly sees what part of the path has already been passed and how much is still ahead.
Principles of petal diet
Each weight loss technique has its rules. Six petal diets are no exception:
- meals may not be less than four, but breaks in between may not exceed four hours. The best option is two breakfasts (after a certain time), lunch, afternoon tea and dinner (preferably no later than six o'clock in the evening);
- food that is consumed must be chewed carefully. This will help to enrich it with enzymes and improve the digestive process;
- monitor drinking habits. You can drink plain water (at least one and a half liters a day) and unsweetened green tea. It is forbidden to drink while eating, it is better to do it half an hour before or after eating;
- on one day of the menu, the amount of salt consumed should not exceed 5 g, this is about two thirds of a teaspoon. You can use fresh or dried herbs as a spice.
In the process of following the diet must leave six petals:
- all kinds of baked goods except a few slices of wholemeal bread a day;
- all kinds of sweets, the list includes shop and homemade confectionery, sugar and jam, chocolate and all other products that contain large amounts of sugar;
- butter and vegetable oils;
- canned food, smoked as well as fried foods, prepared semi-finished products, fast food products;
- coffee of all kinds, sweetened carbonated drinks, compost, jelly, juice packaging. On the last day of the diet (fruit) you can treat yourself to a little freshly squeezed juice.
And the last rule: Every day you lose weight, the menu can not contain products that are not in the designated group.
Advantages and disadvantages of losing weight with the method of separate nutrition
The advantage of the petal diet is that:
- it helps you lose a few pounds in just a week;
- division into a single diet is easier to transport than, for example, what needs to be monitored for a few days;
- frequent meals help one lose weight not to get hungry.
This technology is not free from disadvantages, e. g. e.
- such a rigid diet, like any other one-diet diet, is stressful for the whole organism. He gets some products in excess but others are clearly not enough, in other words - nutrient balance is disturbed;
- that personal taste preferences are not followed. For example, some people do not like fish and have to eat it all day. This is a kind of psychological strain;
- the effectiveness of separate feeding is not completely proven. It's like the placebo effect: when a person believes that diet will help them lose weight, it can work. He does not believe - he is in danger of joining the ranks of participants in the experiments, which did not help to lose weight in particular. By the way, researchers from the Israeli Weizmann Institute conducted a study, which subsequently found that the organisms of different humans can react differently to different foods. Accordingly, the outcome of dieting may be different;
A study of the direct effects of dietary supplements on the human body was also conducted by researchers at the University of Colorado in 2016.
but the main disadvantage of fast food is that such technology is not able to change one's attitude towards food. It can help you lose pounds, but it will not eliminate the cause of their appearance.
